Milton Keynes Local Heroes Awards 2021
123 Internet Group, a local digital marketing agency based in Kiln Farm, have been named the winners of the Charity & Volunteering Award at the Milton Keynes Local Heroes Awards 2021.
Announced on MKFM, CEO Scott Jones and his team of 21 in-house marketing specialists won the prestigious award for their recent contribution to the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). The agency received a special visit from Andrew Geary, the Mayor of Milton Keynes, who presented their official award certificate.
To help RMHC during the pandemic, 123 Internet Group donated a 3D Matterport digital twin scan of Oxford House, which provides accommodation for families with sick children so that they can stay close to Oxford’s hospitals. The interactive scan allows website visitors to explore Oxford House from room to room, and learn more about the charity’s work on a walkthrough tour. This proved to be an invaluable asset for RMHC, as social distancing restrictions prevented them from opening the newly revamped Oxford House to the public.
On winning the award, Scott said:
It was an amazing feeling to be nominated for this award, let alone to win! I’m so proud and delighted that our work with RMHC has been celebrated, as we wanted to give back what we could during this difficult time, and this wonderful charity deserves recognition for the work that they do. It was a lovely surprise to meet the Mayor and introduce him to some of the team, sharing stories about the local community and culture. We’re looking forward to the next 12 months of getting back to normal and hopefully, offering face-to-face support to our clients once again.
While 123 Internet scooped the award for Charity and Volunteering, runners up Age UK also received a special mention on MKFM for supporting vulnerable people in the community throughout the pandemic. The winners of the Milton Keynes Local Heroes Awards were decided by a panel of 3 judges – the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Milton Keynes, and the Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire, Countess Elizabeth Howe.
Congratulating 123 Internet Group on their win, Countess Howe said:
They have been most innovative and constructive in helping Milton Keynes families who have sick children in Oxford children’s hospitals. Scott was also instrumental in enabling parents of sick children to stay in touch with their families through a support network, so it was a real lifeline for parents coping with isolation and loneliness associated with living away from home.
